Micki Supported children in need through collaboration with Rädda Barnen Sverige
In collaboration with Rädda Barnen Sverige, Micki provided toys and financial support to programmes for children in need in Sweden and Armenia.
Helping more children having a safe and playful childhood has been one of Micki’s key objectives since the company was founded in 1944. Our vision is one of happy, playful children living in a safe world. And we feel that by facilitating play, we can contribute to safer and more playful childhoods, even for children in need.
We took a step in the right direction with our our past collaboration with Rädda Barnen Sverige. We were active in two of the organisation’s ongoing projects, one in Sweden and one in Armenia.
“Working with organisations that promote children's rights and safety has been an important part of Micki for a long time. The values that Rädda Barnen stands for and their important efforts to make the world that little bit better for children are in line with Micki's vision and values,” says Jonas Aronsson, CEO of Micki.

Healing play experiences for children who have experienced domestic violence
Every child should feel safe, loved and cared for in their home. Children should never, ever be subjected to violence. Yet, unfortunately, violence is a part of some children's everyday lives. Micki helped provide toys to programmes for children in Sweden who have experienced domestic violence.
Through play and social activities, together with Rädda Barnen Sverige's volunteers, children who have experienced domestic violence are able to take time out of their difficult everyday lives and enjoy positive and healing experiences. The activities help fight apathy and feelings of isolation in children, and offer them the chance to be around safe adults who are positive role models and experience all-important positive interactions designed just for them.
"We're so happy that we can order wonderful toys for children. Micki's wide range of toys helps us find materials and toys suitable for children of all ages. Micki's range of products is perfect for us as we often do activities like games and puzzles with the children". An active volunteer at Rädda Barnen Sverige told us how important it is for the children to get toys that they can keep and take home.
”The children are thrilled when they open their presents: "Wow! It's a toy!". They're so happy when they realise they can keep the toy and take it home. The children also get a big game that they can play with the rest of the family.
Support for children who fled the Nagorno-Karabakh conflic
An estimated 40,000 children, either with their families or alone, fled violence in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Armenia, an area hit hard by the bloody conflict.
Since October 2020, Rädda Barnen Sverige has supported children and families affected by the armed conflict in Armenia. Through partner-driven efforts, we’ve supported people who’ve fled Nagorno-Karabakh in five regions of the country and its capital, Yerevan.
Rädda Barnen Sverige has distributed life-saving supplies and educational materials to children, and in the organisation's child-friendly spaces, young people have been able to enjoy leisure and educational activities while they and their guardians receive psychosocial support.
“With the support of Micki, Rädda Barnen's local partner organisation, Armavir Development Center, organises recreational activities for children affected by the conflict. These activities help them cope better with stress and feel good about themselves by making new friends, playing games and participating in activities they enjoy,” says Alan Frisk, Deputy Humanitarian Director at Rädda Barnen Sverige.
