MEET MICKI'S NEW FRIENDS AND THE FINALIST FOR SWEDISH TOY OF THE YEAR 2026
This autumn, Micki introduces new toys with sound and light in the Friends of Curiosity collection. The collection is designed to spark curiosity and let children explore the toys through their senses. One of them, Gigglebot, has been nominated for Toy of the Year, in the toddler category, 2026.
Inspired by the way children naturally learn through play, the collection combines Micki's timeless design with integrated sound and light details. Micki's newest toys, together with several updated favourites, invite children into a playful universe where the senses take centre stage.
"We've carefully selected a range of beloved, timeless toys and given them a modern touch. But the lights and sounds aren't just for fun — they also add an educational dimension that helps children explore and learn while they play."
Anne Arvgrim, Head of Design, Micki
Beep, click and spin! Gigglebot isn't just a playful little robot — it's a friend that invites children on an exciting journey full of buttons, lights and spinning gears. Here, small hands can try, feel and experiment, again and again. Gigglebot invites curious play and plenty of little moments of joy, and is made from FSC-certified wood.
A few other friends in the Friends of Curiosity collection are Jinglepop Pig, a cheerful little pig that makes sounds, and Twinklebug, a curious little caterpillar full of things to discover.
"Today we know that too much screen time can affect children's sleep, concentration and language development. Experts recommend clear limits, especially for the youngest children. But instead of focusing on restrictions, we want to direct attention to what we want to encourage: play."
Christian Nilsson, CEO, Micki
In Micki's magical universe, big adventures begin in small hands. Here, imagination, curiosity and play come together in Swedish-designed toys that invite children to discover something new every day. With thoughtful details, safe design and playful features, Micki creates toys that don't just spark joy in the moment but can be passed down and loved for generations.
Micki is a family-owned Swedish toy company founded in 1944, with deep roots in Scandinavian toy-making tradition. The company is nestled in the forests of Småland in southern Sweden, where every toy is still developed with great care for the children who will play with them.
Among Micki's popular toys — the kind found in almost every nursery — are the push-along walker, the shape-sorting box with tricky wooden blocks, and the hammering bench that invites hours of banging fun.
